could easily associate with Dictionary Félibrige, that I present today a quote attributed to the Dictionary of the French Academy:

Yes but still very well done, it will always do ...

The Provencal language no exception and it took a few men, mid 19th century, to give the language its dictionary and grammar. Mistral is the author the most famous, Nobel Prize in Literature requires ... (Sully Prud'homme has also had that is now forgotten) but it was accompanied in this by others to create this famous Dictionary Félibrige !

The Félibrige (in Occitan language: Lou Felibrige according to standard Mistralian Felibritge or Lo according to the standard classical) is a literary association founded in 1854 by Frédéric Mistral Provencal poets and six for defense of traditional regional cultures and the preservation of the langue d'oc [Roumanille Joseph Theodore Aubanel, Jean Brunet Paul Giera, Anselme Mathieu and Alphonse Tavan]. Together, they sought to restore the Provencal language and codify the spelling. Félibrige is a proper name that designates a specific organization. It should write with a capital F , not a lowercase f . The name is derived from the word Félibrige Félibre, a term given to the honor by Mistral to designate a member of Félibrige (a woman is called félibresse and there are many!). Félibre name contains the word free, which means both "book" and "free" in Provençal, which can be interpreted by the spirit of Félibrige: Gaining freedom through the book ...

Everyone in the field Occitan , Lou Tresor dou uses Felibrige Mistral, but Tresor is far from unanimous. No one does not question the importance of work that Mistral has provided. Just remember that he worked almost alone where, nowadays, many teams would meet to make a comparable structure (they are 40 at the Academy counting Gandillet Ph). Certainly, he was able to use dictionaries to Honnorat (Provencal-French dictionary or dictionary of the language of ancient and modern oc. Worthy, 1848), but in his day, these encyclopedias of the langue d'oc were improved. In fact, Mistral has changed the spelling étymologisante Honorat phonologisante the tale of Félibrige, mainly due to the design had Roumanille language, and he corrected.

The world Occitan regretted this review, because the spelling is félibréenne, we know, focuses on the dialects of the Provence Rhone which does not facilitate the implementation of this revision to other varieties Occitan spelling . From there, a century of disputes that have little spelling contributed to the success of the regionalist movement. It should, however, say that employment practice that is Mistral's system is incomparably more coherent than Honnorat had done his. In addition, Mistral has relied on many correspondents he had in all the land of Oc. This has greatly increased the number of entries and to enrich the semantic value of many items. If Mistral had this important source was mostly by concern encyclopedic because the Treasury is not only a dictionary ... It has more symbolic significance, the full title, as I mentioned in the record with his 14 points, makes clear!
